Terms, Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
1. Sensitive Electronics & Alternator Water Intrusion Disclaimer
Modern vehicle engine compartments contain intricate electronic sensors, alternators, ignition coils, fuse blocks, and Engine Control Units (ECU). Shop utilizes low-moisture steam, specialized degreasers, and covers primary sensitive components. Customer acknowledges that moisture can migrate into aged factory wiring harnesses, and Shop is not liable for temporary sensor moisture, check engine lights, or electrical faults in pre-aged wiring.
2. Aftermarket Intakes, Exposed Filters & Custom Wiring
Customer is strictly required to disclose any aftermarket electrical equipment, uncovered cold air intake filters, auxiliary lighting relays, or custom audio wiring. Shop assumes zero liability for water ingestion into open aftermarket air filters or short circuits caused by unsealed, non-weatherproof aftermarket wiring.
3. Heat-Degraded Plastics, Brittle Clips & Rubber Hoses
Engine compartments operate under extreme thermal cycling that degrades plastics, vacuum lines, and radiator hose connections over time. Shop is not liable for breakage of pre-existing brittle engine cover clips, cracked dipstick handles, aged vacuum lines, or flaking under-hood insulation blankets.
4. Disclosure of Pre-Existing Oil & Coolant Leaks
Removing heavy grease, sludge, and baked-on oil may uncover pre-existing gasket seepages, valve cover leaks, or cracked hose fittings that were previously sealed by dried oil cake. Customer agrees that engine degreasing does not cause mechanical fluid leaks and holds Shop harmless for pre-existing mechanical defects.
Pre-Service Authorization & Assent
Customer agrees to pre-service condition log, certifies removal of personal property, and agrees to all liability terms stated above.
Post-Service Handover & Satisfaction
Customer confirms visual satisfaction on finished surfaces upon pickup, subject to standard 48-hour discovery window.
